A space to connect, share, and be supported in the unique role of step-parenting/raising children within blended family dynamics.
We will meet twice a month with varying content including sharing of highs & lows, opportunities for open discussion & exploration of our experiences, and periodic guest speakers to enhance our knowledge base & deepen our understanding of topics relevant within our community.
The group aims to support each another’s efforts to thrive as individuals, to find success in forming strong & secure bonds within our family systems, and to optimally-navigate the various interpersonal relationships that may accompany our roles in co-parenting children that we did not physically create.

This group welcomes all folks in nonbiological parental roles, including step parents, “bonus” parents, and partners of those with preexisting offspring (regardless of marital status).
Blended & Brilliant is facilitated by Kathleen Reed. Kathleen was born into a blended family of origin, and her experience in this space was further broadened when she met her now husband, who had two young children from a prior relationship. Today she is stepmom to a 15 year old stepdaughter & 12 year old stepson, and mama to a 2 year old son that she gave birth to in 2019.
Kathleen brings to the group a passion for learning, an appreciation for depth of personal connections, and a sense of purpose in her desire to open up the dialogue and normalize the emotions & feelings experienced within the constructs of blended family dynamics.
